East of Rome and stretching from the Apennine Mountains to the Adriatic Sea, Abruzzi is one of seven regions in the heartland of Italy. Perhaps best known for its unique and delicious pasta, Abruzzi is a province of farmers and shepherds, with a deeply traditional cuisine featuring local hams and cheeses from the mountain areas, sausages and cured meats, fresh fish and other seafood, and a bounty of fruits and vegetables.

Authentic Italian cooking techniques call for the use of high-quality, fresh, seasonal ingredients. In keeping with these time-honored customs, our menu features pasta made daily by hand, homemade sauces and desserts, as well as locally-grown and organic produce as much as possible. We combine traditions of the Italian heartland with contemporary culinary methods, working closely with local farms and other vendors in our community to bring the best ingredients to each preparation and exceptional food to each and every guest. Facilities and Services

Location, Location, Location
Abruzzi Catering Co. caters superior events in the company’s two indoor banquet areas, or at a location of your choice. Banquet areas are made available for a four-hour period, with additional time available at $50 per hour.

The Plaza View Room occupies the third floor of Jacoby’s Storehouse and, as its name implies, overlooks a cultural and historic center, the Arcata Plaza. The room’s maximum capacity is 120 guests, and the event sales minimum for this facility is $750.

The Plaza Annex, also located in the historic Jacoby Storehouse, is a good choice for smaller gatherings. It has a maximum capacity of 80 guests and requires an event sales minimum of only $500.

Clients may prefer a different location, or Abruzzi Catering Co. can design an event that will comfortably fit into a client’s life and home. Regardless of the premises, the same complete range of catering and bar services is offered. For a full-service event, the off-premise catering fee is $150. If only delivery and pick-up services are required, that fee is reduced to $50.

Bar Service
Abruzzi Catering Co.’s full range of catering services includes hosted and no-host bar services, available at both on-premise and off-premise locations. A bar setup fee is charged to cover the cost of the bartender and required insurance and alcohol permits for the event. The company works with each client to determine the level of bar products that should be purchased for the event. For hosted bar service, a bar sales minimum is set according to the number of guests expected to attend the event. If actual sales are less than the established sales minimum, the client pays the difference.

Event Service
Abruzzi Catering Co.’s catering services also include event service at both on-premise and off-premise locations. A fee is charged to cover the costs of banquet room setup and cleanup, service staff and required license and insurance permits for the event. The company works with each client to determine the number of servers that should be staffed for the event based on the number of guests expected to attend the event and the level of service required.

Wedding Service
Whether you want a small, intimate affair for 25 of your closest friends and family, or a gala celebration for 500 guests, we will provide the exceptional service you expect on the most special day of your life. We offer a complete range of plated and buffet meals, as well as a large selection of hot or cold hors d’oeuvres to meet your needs and your budget.

  • Event service is provided at both on- and off-premise locations for the duration of your event.
  • Full, private bar set-ups are available for hosted or no-host beverage service.
  • Your private banquet room and dining tables will be arranged prior to your arrival.
  • All banquets are serviced with china, cutlery, glassware and linen napkins at no additional charge.
  • Upon request, votive candles will be provided at no additional charge.
  • Our staff will perform all clean-up and necessary closing procedures upon conclusion of your event, at both on- and off-premise locations.
  • Special pricing is available when you reserve our facilities and services for both your rehearsal and wedding reception events.

At Your Service
We are dedicated to providing a truly memorable experience on your special day. We tailor our service to your event, ensuring you and your guests are given the care and attention you deserve.

  • Our Catering Director will be your single point of contact from the planning stages through event completion. On your special day, the Director will manage all aspects of catering operations and assist with event coordination.
  • We provide servers to stage the dining area, set the tables, manage all food and beverage areas, serve guests and clear tables, and clean up all banquet areas upon completion of your event.
  • The company works with each client to determine the level of staffing necessary for the event based on the number of expected guests and service requirements.
  • When place cards and favors are delivered in advance, we will put these on the tables for you.
  • No two catering events are the same, nor should they be. We offer a range of additional services to allow you to tailor the event to your own specifications. No matter your tastes and style, we will help you design an unforgettable event.
  • Assistance with vendor selection and complete, one-of-a-kind event design (such as specialty linens and lighting, elaborate décor and theme events) is also available.
  • We will provide an estimate of your expenses and help you plan accordingly.
Food and Beverages
Though well-known for serving delicious and authentic Italian food, Abruzzi Catering Co. specializes in designing menus as unique and diverse as our clients. Whether you crave traditional fare, foods from exotic lands or a mix of offerings from distinct cultures, we will fuse conventional elements with a wide array of cuisines from around the globe to create a contemporary experience you and your guests will never forget. Compliment your menu with a full selection of beverages, including alcohol, available at all catering locations.
  • Choose from several prix fixe options, or let us customize a menu to fit your theme and suit your individual tastes and budget.
  • Menu tastings are made available by appointment. (Pricing is determined by selections and availability.)
  • Our full range of catering services includes hosted and no-host bar services at both on- and offpremise locations.
  • We offer an extensive wine list, as well as a large selection of alcohol at various price points to fit your preferences and budget. Additional selections are available upon request.
  • Bar services include setup and cleanup, alcohol procurement, equipment, license, insurance and bartending service for the duration of your catered event.
